Edit Multiple File Names?
#1
Hi,

I am new to xbmc and so far very impressed. I'm having a problem with some TV shows not appearing in my library and from reading the wiki page this seems to be down to the file names. A huge amount of my TV shows are in the following format: e.g. "The Wire Season 2 Episode 1 - Episode Name". I've worked out that if I rename this file in Windows to s02e01 then it shows up in my library, but for the shear amount of files, I was wondering if there was a way to edit these that will save me going through each file name at a time? Or is there a workaround I can use? Is there an add on or something I can get that will allow xbmc to recognise the example format?

Any help is much appreciated.

I'm sure there are renamer apps that will do this for you, else you could add a new regexp that will pick up your naming format. For this you'd need to note down the _exact_ filenames so that whoever helps you (assuming you don't do it yourself, ofcourse!) makes sure they get things right. See the wiki for details.

Cheers,
Jonathan
