My new build

I made a thread a little while ago about a build I was going to purchase. I missed out on the deal literally by an hour(idiot mistake). Anyways I just purchased all of this tonight. I did quite a bit of research and decided to go with this setup. I really hope everything fits.

Case: Wesena Mini ITX7-2 http://www.wesena.co.uk/product.php/6/2/itx7_2$107.00

ASRock H67M-ITX/HT LGA 1155 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...m-itx%2fht$119.99

Mini-Box PicoPSU-160-XT http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TWE...00_details$48.45

12.5A 150W AC-DC adapter http://www.short-circuit.com/product/150w-acdc.html $50.75

Core i3 2125 LGA 1155 http://www.microcenter.com/single_produc...id=0376494 $130.67

OCZ Agility 3 60gb SATA 6Gb/s http://www.microcenter.com/single_produc...id=0364779 $65.34

Microcenter 4GB DDR3-1333 http://www.microcenter.com/single_produc...id=0353218 $19.59

Enermax Fan Uc-8Eb http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6811999199 $8.12

SILVERSTONE 3.5 to 2 X 2.5-Inch Bay http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BH3...00_details $7.99

Thermaltake Slim X3 Low Profile 36mm Height http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6835106152 $22.99

8 inch 4Pin Molex Male to one SATA http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00301Z...01_details $6.25

80mm Steel Mesh Filter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00152Q...00_details $3.95

Arctic Silver 5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6835100007 $6.95

Total: $598.04

I still need to purchase 2 X 2.5" storage drives. I'm going to wait a little while on this though. Also I am probably going to buy this next week sometime but need to do a little more research on it.

IR Receiver with cable for CIR http://shop.inteset.com/Products/5-ir-re...oards.aspx $21.95 + Shipping

My main concern is the CPU Fan/Heatsink. It's under 40mm so I think I will be alright but I guess I will find out soon enough.

not always, you need a PicoPSU Power Kit, then, it'll come with one.

PicoPSU's are pricey Tongue

I bought this last night

12.5A 150W AC-DC adapter http://www.short-circuit.com/product/150w-acdc.html $50.75

Will that not work with my picoPSU?

that power brick should work. i have pretty much the exact same build except i left the stock intel cooler and bent the 3.5" hard drive bay to accomodate the cooler. Also added a Saphire HD6450 graphics card.

I have my main storage sitting in a server outside right now. Next project is to build an UnRaid server once the hdd prices drop.

I was going to buy the low profile CPU cooler you got since the current stock cooler gets very little room above it and my CPU tends to run a bit hot ... 49C idle. Also point the case fan to flow air INTO the case. That help reduce my temps by 4C. Let me know what temps you get.

Great Case by the way!! I had an old slot loading blu-ray writer and this case was perfect for it along with its great build quality.

Most of my stuff is arriving today(thank you amazon prime!) but I have to wait for the case till the 20th. I will make sure to update the thread with the pictures I take while building this htpc. I'm getting real anxious : )

Also, This isn't my first HTPC. I have one currently in the living room, one in the master bedroom and a storage server runing WHS 2011 as well. This will be my first official XBMC box though. The reason I haven't primarily used XBMC on the other machines is because of the cable situation. The WAF is a big deal and I've only recently found out that current versions of XBMC handle tuners without much of a fuss.

Will that mobo wake from s3,s4 and s5 using the CIR header and proper CIR receiver?

With this option, it should work- http://shop.inteset.com/Products/13-ir-r...emote.aspx

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

I did some looking on the motherboards product page and it did state that it wakes from s5. The above receiver is what I was hoping for, but no shipments until April...sigh. The one they ship with the board seems odd. You use the CIR header and then stick a receiver into the USB port all with an ugly remote to boot. I'll just go for the not HT version of the board.

I'm with you on this. I did buy the HT but i kind of regret it because I spent like an extra $30 on things I really wont need. I may end up using the wireless but most likely not. The USB CIR isn't my cup of tea either. I will be buying my own CIR board later on.

Are you able to wake the mobo with USB? I'm not having any luck with that. All the USB hubs in the device manager have that option greyed out and I see nothing in the BIOS for it.
