OS X Eden RC2 can't find SMB share
#1
I was running Eden RC2 on a Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) installation. I then wiped the drive and re-installed Eden. (I was getting prepared to install Eden Final on a few different systems, so I wanted to make sure I had everything working correctly.)

Now XBMC can't find SMB shares. :-( When I try to add it, I get "Error 2: Share not available".

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: As a work around, I used the last option, "Add Network Location" to manually add my SMB share. It then added that to the list of options, so I don't have to find it every time.

I would double check your permissions on the smb share (are your shares on a mac or windows? ) You might also want to try and power cycle your router...Ive got a few other things that can be tried as well.
Proper Usage of a debug log

If you haven't already try using the the last menu point 'Add network location...' in the Browse for new share menu.
Select SMB enter the IP address and the username/password for the share.

That worked for me.
