I am thinking of getting my girls anappletv gen 1. I was wondering if i install crystalbuntu can i have access to a desktop environment as well?
What are the major differences in atv 1 and 2?
apple tv gen1 for kids..... opinions

ATV1 with crystalbuntu V1 (11.eden). Theater remote URC MX-810, droidx wtih xbmc remote, or transformer tf101 with YATSE. 2 x ATV2 (V12.0 Eden). |

ATV1 is basically a computer with an Intel chip inside. It's possible to even install a full copy of Mac OS X 10.5, or a full Ubuntu desktop. ATV2 is basically an iPhone without a screen.
