Win BBC HD 1080i TS recordings unplayable
#1
Hi,

I can't seem to play my recordings from BBC HD (1080i TS) they open fine but then they immediately begin to stutter and the picture starts to loop, then the audio cuts out until I give up and stop the file. I can however playback all of my 1080i recordings from different channels, it's really just the BBC HD ones that do not work, tried muxing them to mkv/m2ts already but that didn't help either.

Running Eden RC2 on a zbox hd-nd22

XBMC Log when I playback a bbc hd recording:

Mediainfo of the file:

I already googled a bit for some solutions the only thing I found looking remotely similar is this guy: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...#pid706717 But there never was a follow up, so I'm not sure if he fixed it. I can provide a short snippet of one of my recordings if that is needed.

A short sample is required to get a better idea of what's happening. It's pretty obvious in the log that XBMC doesn't like the file...

See http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/13165 for a solution that works also for this example.

Hi,

I am unable to play these exact files (only the BBC 1080i) on my tai and Numidia boxes?
Has this regression worked its way back in?

I've tried the following..

Xbmc 13.1
Ati 6820
Dxva 2 enabled and disabled
Multithreading software enabled
Hardware decoding and software decoding
Disabling hq scalers
Bitstream audio and pass as stereo

I've tried virtually every solution including disabling deinterlacing etc?

Can any one confirm if these .ts interlaced 1080i files work on xbmc, because they work flawlessly on mpc but refuse to work (stutterfest) in xbmc Sad

I have ripped BBC Life and Planet Earth Blu-Ray disks as mkv and they play fine in my XBMC system using the onboard AMD driver.

Can you try the 1080i ts file (audio test) as I have tried it on all my boxes and it failed in xbmc.

I believe this is a regression in Gotham?

They are posted above, if anyone could test that would be great Big Grin

I'm getting a 'website is offline' message while trying to download the clip.

Hi,

http://tehparadox.com/forum/f67/%5Bhd%5D...0i-241137/

I think it's available here too.
Basically these file types (perhaps rare these days) have regressed in 13 and no longer function. Not a big desk (much like the other minor issues such as xbmc won't "palsy using" with another device other than xbmc, but big cause a few headaches Big Grin

Gotham has been like the M.E or vista of releases for me. It works, and it's great. But unlucky for me, the regressions are ones that affect me regularly Sad

If anyone can try to test the BBC file and report back, that's cool, if not, I think it's safe to say that these file types (encoding types) are no longer supported by xbmc as they don't work on any of my xbmc installations across a we,the of different.OS and. Hardeware Sad

I have lot of 1080i ts files (Mostly Music Video HDTV Cap). Some works fine, but some has issues. Most frequent issues I have were strutters or audio not sync. Convert to mkv by MKVtoolnix usually solved the issue though.

But usually I use DSPlayer build to play this type of files. Works fine so maybe it's down to FFMPEG problem.
