And when you switch to passthrough audio the volume will be too high since the lower XBMC volume has to be compensated by turning the amp volume louder.

No one here is running any external thing like Audio Hijack Pro that can insert AU plugins into the audio chain ?

No change. Had to test using headphones which i don't use normally, but it sounded the same as the other test builds.
I'm using plain OSX with all the updates from Apple Update and XBMC being the only application installed. |

I can certainly do it, but it has to wait until tomorrow, it's night already.. Which mp3 is that, did you forget the link?
And like i said, i was not using very scientific methods when capturing using builtin speakers and mic, even my own breathing can corrupt the result completely. Macbook's mic seems to be pretty sensitive, picks up noises from far away. I could try capturing the songs using Songflower and Audacity and compare them that way. |

use the Macbook's mic, we don't need perfection here.
EDIT: and hold your breath during those 30 seconds

I just tried the new version posted 2h ago, and it's still the same.
The sample is captured with audacity via soundflower. The advanced settings have not changed, the guisettings are here http://pastebin.com/7BRWmaty MacBook Volume was at 100%. If you want I can try Audio Hijack, just let me know how you want me to capture the song. |
