Cannot control log-in screen via HTTP

I have 3 users on my XBMC and when ever I log out of one user and go back to the log-in screen the socket closes and I cannot navigate to a new user from my remote control. I have to use my keyboard to select the new user, and once I do, the socket opens back up and I can control it again.

FYI, I am controlling XBMC through HTTP from a Crestron processor.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do here?
