Project Eden RC2 and Mysql database
#1
Hi all,

I had installed XBMC 10 on 2 windows machines with one mysql database.
this worked out fine.

now I have installed the Eden RC2 version on the first machine. made a clean database install just in case.
but now my second machine is not able to connect to this database. the database name is xbmc_video / xbmc_music
the second machine wants to connect to xbmc_video60 and then it tries 59 til it is with xbmc_video but no luck at all.

is there anything I'm missing ?

thanks

Is the second machine XBMC 10 or Eden? Eden uses a newer database schema than XBMC 10 so this may be causing an issue.

Are you able to turn on debug logging and attach your logs?

Cheers

You'll need to post to a site that doesn't require login to get the file.

Make sure that your XBMC versions are the same, and that your advance settings both point to the same database.
Also make sure that correct grant access is available for XBMC.

If you are trying to import an older schema, make sure that there are 41 tables in it. (I think version is a new table).

If you have backed up your data and are trying to import the SQL to your database, ensure that you are not trying to do an insert into the "view" tables -
this was a sticky point for me yesterday. Also, as was in previous instructions the names were xbmc_video and this created xbmc_video58, xbmc_video59, xbmc_video60 etc.
If you remove name from advanced settings the DB name will be myvideosXX......
