XBMC crashing
#1
Hi

I am posting this in general even though I am experiencing it on atv2 but think it may be XBMC related rather than platform.
I am at work so don't have a log to post right now but the logs I get from the error don't seem very useful.
What's happening is no matter which video plugin I use, my atv is crashing about 1h30m after I start a movie and starting back up on the main atv start page. It doesn't happen with tv shows, maybe because they are shorter in duration. When I view a log file it seem to stop recording logs 10-20mins into the file so I have no info on what happened during the last hour or so before the crash.

Here is what I have done on my Atv2 4.4.4, Eden rc2, with 13mb wired internet connection.

removed advanced setting file completeley
confirmed updatebegone is installed
restored and rejailbroke using 4.4.4 blobs
downgraded to Eden beta3 and back to rc2 as issue existed on beta3
uninstalled xbmc, deleted all related folders, reinstalled xbmc
setting changed in atv and within xbmc such as don't extract tumbnails, 16 bit sound, ariel/co axial output, don't install media player,
cleared cache
cleared database in user data folder

the tv shows that I have watched succesfully are all 52 mins long 720p 1.4gb files
the movies can't ever go past 1h30m or so and some are as small as 500mb.

Has anyone ever experienced and fixed this or is anyone able to suggest anything else?

I know people get annoyed with noobs asking questions without research or logs but I have researched, tried to fix it before asking and I just don't have acces to the logs at the minute but they really don't have very much info from the time of the issue.

One thing to note in the logs is that at the start of the tv shows that I am able to watch there are a number of logs saying 'buffer filled with curl failed error code 56' but as far as I was concerened this is just a record of initial stuttering while the connection starts to buffer.

Thanks

can you post a debug log please?

Copy the text in the file to a site like pastebin.com and post the link here.

crashlog needed too and syslog if possible ... first link in my sig tells you how to do it ... and if a log has usefull or not is something most users can't interpret (though you should turn on debugging in xbmc to have the log filled with more information)

Thanks Lads.
I jailbroke both my sisters atv2 recently and installed just the bare minimum, they have no issues like this, would setting my settings in both atv2 menu and xbmc setting to the exact same as theirs helpHuh

It happened again last night

crash log: http://pastebin.com/CtjgbTvh

debug log: http://pastebin.com/EHeCnxSw (debugging on) seem to be curl error 28

I installed syslogd but still don't have a syslog folder, sorry.
Also the crash report has the wrong time, it's out by a few hours, the times in the debu log are accurate and these logs are both for the same error.

Please somebody help.
