A nice Feature would be if it was posible to off host the XBMC UPNP server on a NAS (synology). The NAS already supports UPNP/DNLA it would be nice if XBMC could fill the UPNP database of the NAS.

Nice suggestion! In the meanwhile, if you can compile yourself you should check this topic to run a complete database (without GUI but with scraping and upnp) on x86 synology (maybe also already ARM): http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=132919
