Eden - settings>system>input>peripherals menu not working
#1
Hello,
I recently upgraded to Eden from Dharma (On Ubuntu 11.4, using the ubuntu package updater)
Most features worked well. I re-touched up my keyboard.xml file from my backup, and my newly-purchased CEC-USB adapter works well to turn the TV on&off.

My problem: the Settings>System>Input>Peripherals menu does not open. I can navigate down to Input, and see the option for Peripherals, but clicking on it does nothing.

I can open my perhipherals.xml file, which allowed me to set my desired settings, but I thought it odd that the menu wouldn't open.

Any ideas on this?
Thanks!

I believe it depends on having a suitable peripheral connected.

Are you using the Confluence skin?

Anything in the debug log?

Ah, a debug would help. It looks like the line of interest is:

ERROR: unable to load:/home/[...]/.xbmc/addons/skin.transparency/720p/DialogPeripheralManager.xml, Line 0
Failed to open file

After being unable to see updates available, something triggered an update check.
Once Transparency was updated, I was able to access the input settings.

Useful lesson: after upgrading to Eden, make sure all your plugins update themselves.
