The idea of a bootable XBMC is great. And iv always tried it when there is something new about it.
Just tried the new eden 11. And its getting there. But there is still a way to go for me on it from what i see.
One big problem is the sound. In windows i find my receiver without problem, but in the XBMCBuntu i don't find it and then i don't get sound at all trough HDMI. The other problem that is also related to sound is the lack of HD sound support, for now.
Now the other problem is not something that most people don't have problem with, but i need to be able to chose between 2 sound sources. One for Surround the othe for Stereo. The reason is that i use a DAC to play music, and that only works in two channels. So my solution in windows is that i have 2 XBMC clients on the same system with different sound source setting, just changing between them and then changing the channel on the receiver.
Other than that there isn't any problem with XBMCBuntu as what i see, it works great! and its come far from what it ones was! And for those that don't see any problem with the above this is just great! Recommended!
