you seem to have something mixed up in your build system, or some upgrade from pre-12.04 went wrong. xbmc*pre-natty*.deb shouldn't be installed on a > natty system.
same installation runs fine on my nvidia systems on the same ubuntu version from a clean install.

i upgraded from Maverick back in June to Precise. Ill stick with the version thats working for now as i dont have the time to try and work out whats broken atm.
A clean install is not an option... If i post the log from the 91 build will that help or a waste of time? I wonder if any of the other logs will have any leads.... If i remember correctly when i upgarded to Precise their was not a Precise build of xbmc-pvr available... after the upgrade xbmc-pvr was still working so is just went with it.

I got a few moments to run some tests and i think it is down to the missing xbmc-live package
because i run a headless system with no gdm xbmc live is the perfered method for launching. after installing build 91 i had to got back and retorfit the xbmc-live scripts to startx then launch xbmc this appears to be broken, the upstart job config calls runXBMC if i execute runXBMC the following error is displayed. Code: initctl: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.919" (uid=1000 pid=16933 comm="initctl emit starting-x ") interface="com.ubuntu.Upstart0_6" member="EmitEvent" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination="com.ubuntu.Upstart" (uid=0 pid=1 comm="/sbin/init")even though i can see xbmc-standalone in the process list its not actually starting properly.. Is their a new method for running headless systems with the latest build that i am not aware of? or is the xbmc-live package for precise that im after for the pvr build? Looks like im not the only one after the live package Pulse Eight forums I have reverted to the older version of xbmc for now. I love the PVR build, all my tv goodness in one location ![]() EDIT Been doing some digging In the repo i can see Code: xbmc-live_11.0-pvr+p8~git20120515.310d665-0ubuntu1~stable76~precise_all.debso i grabed teh 76 build to see if i could get from 73, but it failed. looks like they have changed the way it launches. failed on uxlaunch and lightdm FYI..

After the issues i had with the Garage PC and libva1, i removed libva1 on the HTPC as it wouldnt let me install the build depenancies due to it believing libva1 from maverick was to be installed, ironically this was from "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/lars-opdenkamp/xbmc-pvr/ubuntu maverick main" but didnt not get updated correctly when i did the distribution upgrades from mav to precise...
The good news is removing libva1 then reinstalling xbmc fixed the issue on the HTPC so back in business with the latest version. Thanks. |

Hey opdenkamp,
could you please update your repository with the latest master changes? It seems that the video calibration fix has finaly hit master so that would be a huge improvement ;-) cheers |

I am a novice at XBMC and wonder if there is a clear description of how to set up the PVR function that Dushmaniac has built for Windows 7. So far I have updraded my Eden XBMC to the latest one in Dushmaniac's signature and I do not know how to proceed.

Look in Settings addons PVR clients and enable the backend you are using,
TVheadend MythTV VDR You can fine tune the settings from the Live TV option under settings once enabled.

All the settings in MediaPortal are default except I have put in the location for storage of recorded shows. I had a look at the system description and it says "XBMC 11.0 GIT:20120725 - 9093FB6" . Backend and Frontend are on the same computer. I do not see how I enable Live TV Sorry I posted this in the wrong thread
