i know how it would work, but no idea how to make it work as i am not familiar enough with the code.

**sorry i dropped out jm my mirc cut me loose

for my purposes i use my current listings as an example:

f:\movies is my shortcut in programs (coded to xml)
within that directory is
general
mature

now as movies is my shortcut the 2 subfolders are default displayed and also browsable. to secure them, i'd (i use myself as a ref. but i am far from a coder more a debugger) need t alter the file display method to first look for a single file with no extension "pass" if that file is present prompt for masterpassword before listing directory contents (folders, files etc.) of course this would not be in effect for the file browser itself.

it was pointed out that one method would simply be to create share listings and secure each one individually however with the number of shares i have on my local network that can be a very large and trying list.

anybody who can offer me any assist in making this happen would be most kind and i would certainly appreciate it.
