Personally as much as I like some of the heavier skins I find myself using xTV-SAF and Quartz these days. Does anyone know if these two will perform well on these devices?

When you are at it. Ask them to checkout the Lightbox skin as well. |

Yeah and i believe it will be a different architecture, so unlikely that the driver will for the mali400 will work.

Probably yes, if someone adds compatibility for the Allwinner CEC chip in libcec or find another workaround like for the RPI:

We are sure that AllWinner A10 devices look for u-boot first in the sdcard? because ive trying with pre-built images for the Mele A1000 on my Novo 7 Aurora and none of them work. To me it seems more like Mele A1000 comes with a u-boot that allows to load S.O. first from external SD...

You compiled a proper kernel, putted the proper u-boot files on the card at the right sectors. Is the kernel at the right sectors. Do you have extracted the proper script.bin from your device? etc etc. You can NOT just dump something from another device on a sd-card and it magically boots. It is simple, but not that simple

I think if you try one of the mele images the uboot on the sdcard should already be loaded, as well as the kernel. But probably the kernel will not start up completely since the devices/drivers are probably different.... If you have a serial port connection it should be fairly easy to see what happens and where it fails.
I can be wrong about this, don't shoot me if I am
