What is the correct place for locally stored metadata?
#1
Hello,

I am new to XBMC on iOS but have been using it on my ATV 1G (silver) models for several years and the original Xbox before that. About 6 months ago, I began using Ember Media Manager to find and store my metadata locally for my movie files.

In the last two weeks, I have begun to install XBMC on the ATV 2G (black) models. They are running 4.3 and are jailbroken using Seas0npass. I did a manual installation of XBMC following the wiki page. Everything is coming along nicely but I noticed that some of the movies I have do not show the movie poster but rather the generic graphic of the movie spool.

As I looked into it further, I found that the movies that do not work properly have their file structure as a standard DVD rip (VOB structure) follows:

Code:
Movie Name (folder)
     AudioTS (Empty folder)
     VideoTS (folder)
          video_ts.tbn
          movie.tbn
Video_TS.ifo plus all other standard Video_TS files
plus additional artwork (banner, fanart, etc.)

Whereas the movies that are working properly are either .mkv or .VOB files found at the root of the folder:

Code:
Movie Name (folder)
     folder.jpg
     movie.tbn
     Movie Name.vob
plus additional artwork (banner, fanart, etc.)

Is Ember not storing it properly for XBMC to find it? It is possible this is an ATV2 specific issue?

Any guidance/suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks!

Gilbert
