Linux XBMCbuntu Snapstream Firefly Remote No Joy

epatch,

I was having the same problem. I followed Logan2211's directions and they worked!

Go back and "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lirc" and choose the ati userspace driver ... it'll be early in the list and specifically states 'userspace'. (NOT the snapstream.)

/etc/modprobe.d should have these files: lirc-blacklist ; and lirc-blacklist.conf. Each should contain:

blacklist ati_remote
blacklist lirc_atiusb

Other files and settings are per the wiki (http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Snapstream_Firefly) and logan2211 files. His wake-up link was a bit off... should be:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...for_Ubuntu

Also, put the advancedsettings.xml here: home/youruser/.xbmc/userdata/ You have to manually create that. My file looks like this and works:

<advancedsettings>
<remotedelay>20</remotedelay>
<remoterepeat>500</remoterepeat>
</advancedsettings>

I've started to work on the suspend resume stuff and that is going fine, but not done yet. My ir device ended up on USB3 , 3-2. (I don't understand what he means by 'Add your /proc/acpi/wakeup lines to /etc/rc.local' ; does he mean verbatim?)

Oh yeah, the trick with setting the remote channel is to release the firefly button as soon as it starts to blink. SO... hold firefly (solid, blink, release, blinks and then stays solid); press 1 (normal press-release, stays solid); press firefy (blinks once indicating 1 was accepted). The timing is annoyingly picky. BTW, if you hold firefly down and let it blink it will count out the current setting.

Good luck!
