Question  One HTPC & Two TV's Post: #1
Hi there!

As I'm tranforming my setup here at home, I need to find out if my planned solution (below) is possible:

1 x HTPC (Widows 7) with 2xDVI outputs.
1 x 60" TV (1920x1080)
1 x 32" TV (1366x768)

Not only do the resolution differs, it would also be optimal to be able to independently control/use XBMC on each TV at the same time (e.g individual ports for XBMC Remote etc.). This should mean two instances of XBMC. Do anyone know if this is possible? And maybe how I should do it? Blush

Best Regards,

It will not be easily doable. XBMC works best when it is on the primary display. When you use one graphics card with 2 outputs, only one is the primary. You'd need 2 video cards and 2 audio cards and then figure out how to control each one separately. Even if you figured that out, I don't think you can run 2 instances of XBMC at the same time. I think you'd spend more time and money on trying this than you would on 2 SFF HTPCs.

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

That will only mirror one XBMC to two different displays, but they can not be at 2 different resolutions.
