[RELEASE CANDIDATE] Aeon Nox 3.0

In the 'EXPERIMENTAL' widget for Movies, how is the left panel working? The 'suggestions' are empty in my setup, if I'm correct, this is the 'watchlist' script but I have no idea how this panel is filled?

OK, on a serious note, I really have to ask, is it really necessary to make such drastic changes to parts of the skin that doesn't necessarily need changing? I mean look at the new episode view. I know it's incomplete and you guys don't necessarily like the old look as it breaks the overall style of the skin, but if 95% of users have gone on record as saying that they LOVE the view as it is, why insist on changing it? Seeing as it's a public release, shouldn't one the main priorities be to, in a sense, give the majority of users what they want? I've been a supporter of Nox for ages now, and will continue supporting the skin no matter what, so I hope you know I mean no ill intentions by asking this.

So I just realized that weather icons don't show (i.e. sunny, cloudy etc.) but to be honest I'm not sure when they stopped working. I was running 2.0 on live and added 3.0 to check it out but both don't show the pretty picture. Did something change? Also not sure if it's the fact that I'm using weather plus.

I do not see any disadvantages with the new layout. you can see more of the fanart now, that´s why i did the change.
And no, skinning is not about making everyone happy. It definitely hinders motivation when you have to do things in a way you are not satisfied with yourself.
That doesn´t mean that i do not listen to suggestions/arguments (i think i proved that often enough)

Been using Aeon Nox for several months now and made the conversion to ver 3.0. I just noticed a small problem in TV shows. Where a couple of the shows just show a black banner with the show name in white. (MadMen and one other, can't remember the anem)). All of the other shows seem correct. Usually I just need to go into TV Show Information and reset the banner or poster but that did not work. Interestingly in the Movie info view, normally there is a banner or poster in the left half of the screen. In this case there is no poster or banner displayed. If needed, I will upload a debug log.

5) The "Disable Time Panel" option doesn't stick in the settings (I mean the radiobutton doesn't hold the value given to it). If you disable it an move out of the settings window, you see that the time panel is indeed disabled, but if you go back to the settings window, the option is set to "Off":

6) If you activate the "Widget: Experimental" in Movies, and "Music Information" is also enabled, then the music "Now Playing" window comes up in all the other buttons (TV shows, Music, etc.). The weird thing is, this does not happen if the Experimental is enabled in any of the other widgets:

7) The arrow in the button on the left side that brings up the Media Menu in TV Guide, should be directed upwards:

8) If a movie lacks a fanart image then the movie widget just shows another thumb instead of an empty one. In the screenshot below the movie "Apart" does not have any fanart, and the widget shows the thumb that was up before, in this case, Rihanna's CD (which is very suitable for a bug, since she makes kind of a facepalm!):

banner handling will probably be reverted, so this is known.

I actually like the new episode view. The only problem I had when I first loaded it was that the episode titles went up to the top of the screen over the top bar and at the bottom over the media flags. I'm not sure if its because I have a zoom -4 on my skin due to some overscan

those should be left.
for 3) you have a very very long localized label for that, we won´t be able to completely solve it without shortening that (we cannot center the label because it would move then when autoscroll letter appears/changes

6) you mean only in widget customizer? that is known
8) probably a tricky one (didn´t look yet), better to find a fanart

btw, for all people who use custom main menu items: please check if the new item chooser works as expected (multifanart doesn´t work atm)
this should be bugfixed thoroughly before it can replace the old way of choosing main menu items.

Interesting take on the Episode View. As much as I liked the old layout, one thing that did seem out of place for Aeon is you couldn't see the Fanart. So, I can see why you're going this direction. Took a little getting used to for the transition, but I now come to like it.

I only noticed a couple things with it, and you are probably already aware since it's still WIP

1) Episode Title on the currently focused episode has [/UPPPERCASE] after it

2) The list of episodes seems a bit long. Because the very top of the list goes underneath the breadcrumb bar and the bottom of the list extends down into the media flag area. Unless this is intentional to show there is more in the list.

And only have a suggestion here, since it was redone to show more fanart. What do you think of a option that toggles how much the fanart shows through the black transparency background? Like Fusion's option of Lite/Medium/Heavy. Or just reducing the opaqueness a little so it's still easy to read, but showing a bit more fanart? Right now dark fanarts are pretty washed out and lost.

Other than that I see your reasons for the change and agree with it. Nice work
