Newest pull and still no go for me. If I select Video fanart instead of multi-image, it works.

so you choose a path (how is the path called btw?) it works in customizer, but not on home. correct?
be aware that the single/multifanart label is broken, seems to be an xbmc bug :/
nonetheless, it should work. at least it does here. what does the multifanartvar debug label on home screen show up ? the correct path?

It seems that the problem is using smb:\\... I moved all the images to a non-network drive and it works fine.

You mean smb:\\ as the source. If so, yes. Works fine with T! which is the only other skin I use.

hmm would be nice if you could enable debug logging, try again (scroll over the menu point several times) and post the log here.
the output of the debug label on home would also interest me. does it return the correct path?
needs a new git pull perhaps.

for view in the TV SHOW widget and MOVIES widged only not watched ( for script watchlist and randomAndLastItems )

I'm not sure i follow you, but there was a bug that custom playlist items were not shown in the custom playlist widgets, but instead just recent and random movies. that was just fixed

Actually it works now but if one selects the second type of widjet the playlist does not appear.
If the playlist is empty widjet displays the latest film from another widjet activated.
