So last night as a test run I installed eden xbmcbuntu on to a flash drive and used ftp to copy over my existing userdata directory.
All my thumbnails were there, which was nice, however it didn't pick up myvideosXX.db. I went back and looked and saw two dbs, can't remember the exact numbers here at work, but say something like myvideos11.db and myvideos16.db. The new db I renamed and that's as far as i got last night as it didn't boot up, have to look at that tonihgt.
My questions is have the dbs really not changed at all that I can just drop my old one out of the sky in to my userdata directory and it will be picked up? Seems to good to be true that there isn't some update script or permissions thing as Live -> xmbcbunto is a fresh install.
So even if the tables are the same and the permissions should be okay, what's up with the different numbered db? Where do I tell xbmc which db to use? advancedsettings.xml?
this is the thread i had found which gave me the idea this may work: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=126817
really hoping to maintain the watched flags in the new install. not critical, but would be very nice.
