I just installed the newest version of XBMC to my MacBook and everything seems to be working except for the remote in XBMC. The remote works fine controling volume and front row, but doesn't really respond trying to control XBMC. Any ideas?

Unfortunately the little helper app that enables the remote to work is deep within the application so might still be associated with your last install of XBMC.

Load up activity monitor and find XBMC helper (xbmc should be quit) quit this process then reload XBMC and hopefully it should all be working.

I have never used XBMC and having the same issue. I seen 11 was posted and downloaded it and installed for the first time and the remote functions are messed up. When launching XBMC I get an error "xbmc remote communication server failed to start". If I remote into my Mac Mini and turn the remote preference setting off and then on again it works fine until I exit XBMC and try to launch it.

So what isn't working:
1) Can't launch XBMC with the remote
2) Can't browse within XBMC after launched unless you uncheck remote pref settings in XBMC and check the remote option again.

Running XBMC on Mac Mini:
Mac Mini 3,1
Intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz
4GB Ram
Mac OS 10.6.8 with latest updates

**************************UPDATE******************************

Think I just found my problem........I used to use Plex and found that the Helper application was still running for it. I thought I got rid of it.

Can Force Quit it in Activity Monitor and then delete the plex file in ~/Library/LaunchAgents. Leave the XBMC one in there. Think they were running at the same time and conflicting! Duh.....
