i have found recently that trying to use the video osd while the hd is spun down causes it to pause while it spins the hd back up, i'm not entirely sure but i think this is to load the little "click" navigational sound, obviously i could turn sounds off to stop the hd spinning up but it would be nice if just the sounds needed for the osd could be kept in memory or something so the hd need not spin up when people use the osd.
