Hi,
I use XBMC with a DAC* and, when it is connected via USB, I hear crackling noises during some parts of movies or TV shows
I think it might be XBMC because I have tested another DAC, a brand new one, mine with only a few months.
Thanks for your help.

Don't know if it's clear so here is my system :
- Mac Mini (2010) with OS X 10.6 aka Snow Leopard - Atoll CD 200 / DAC 200 / PR 300 / AM 200 - LCD LOEWE Individual Selection 40 DR+ Currently the DAC is connected to : - the LCD using HDMI - the Mac Mini using USB (HiFi) The LCD is connected to the DAC using coaxial (digital) for TV programs like concerts ... In XBMC i have two type / profiles of parameters : 1. Audio output : digital & output device : USB -> Crackling 2. Audio output : HDMI & output device : HDMI I'm mainly using the first one, i've crated the second to watch movies & TV show without the HiFi system turned on. |

I know I've heard about this issue before, but I can't find the thread for the life of me. If I find it, I'll be sure to post it.
My Mac only has analog out and optical out (no sound over HDMI adapter), and I don't have a receiver with an optical input, or else I would try to reproduce this. You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc |

Thanks
![]() The log can't help finding the problem, solving it ? Edit: Don't consider HDMI for sound, the problem is on the USB out.

Hi,
I've just made a clean install to see what happens. Indeed, if cracklings are still there this mean i cannot use my DAC for videos ![]() Nemrod |

News crackling while watching a movie.
The movie media info : http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=TeewSqEC The XBMC log : http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=GYJv2yua I've stopped playback for switching on log and it was ok, means without crackling, for about 10 minutes. Thank you for your help, it's very frustrating not to be able to use my DAC for video. Nemrod |
