I've eebn ripping my 3D movies as MKV's and they display fine on my TV after it recognizes the side by side pictures. However, I just bought an Acer 27" computer monitor and it won't switch to 3D on movies. Do I need to re-rip them to a new format to be displayed on my computer monitor?

Nothing on this? It's not like I will be watching 3D movies all the time on the computer, but I am confused why my 3D MKV rips don't work with nVidia 3D Vision.

Your computer monitor has to support 3D for this to work. I haven't heard of any non-HDMI connection (such as VGA or DVI) supporting 3D, but I could be wrong.
I have a video card with an HDMI output going to a 3D compatible HDTV and it works fine. |

Sorry I should have clarified. The Acer display I bought is 3D (nVidia 3D Vision). Any of my 3D MKV's just display as side by side video on it instead of 3D.

pat,
there is a discussion going on elsewhere on this forum re similar issues http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=66970&page=23 you will see here my post showing setup i have only working for either sbs or OU but i cant work out how to achieve both unfortunately:-( essentially, you setup the *.xml to choose which software to use to play your *.sbs or *.OU, and feed that software the parms like source is sbs play in FS etc, and away you go. of coarse for testing, the sample i provided was for anaglyph, since im testing on pc not connected to 3d tv. im sure stereoscopic player supports nvidia vision kit as output hope this helps, Dam0 |
