Linux After using 11.10 Eden for a week i'm going back to Dharma 10.10

Hi,

The 11.10 clearly works better then the unstable beta versions, but damn does it crash a lot compared to dharma.

Downsides i've noticed.

Booting way slower due to full fledged ubuntu in the background
Various crashing issues where remote goes unresponsive.
Higher CPU and memory usage.

Upsides:

Thumbnail generation big improvement from 10.10.
Sometimes better decoding & playback on some codecs.
GUI looks better.

Just though i'd share my experiences, running on a ASROCK 330

Did you notice any poblem playing DVDs? I use XBMCBuntu with an ASROCK 330 and the play disc menu doesn't appear after inserting a DVD.

I had some similar issues, I installed Live 10.1 again and updated to Eden, and I have all the benefits of Eden with none of the downsides of XBMCbuntu
XBMCbuntu {Frodo} - Ubuntu 12.04 (Main):
Intel Q6600 [2.4GHz Quad Core], 4GB DDR3, nVidia GT-210, Antec Fusion Case (iMon LCD), PS3 BD Remote

XBMC Live {Frodo} - Ubuntu 10.04 (Bedroom): Intel Atom D510 [1.66GHz Dual Core], ION Graphics, 2GB DDR2, PS3 BD Remote

Eden and XBMCbuntu are two different things.

XBMCbuntu works excellent for me. Its EXACTLY the way it should be IMO.

Booting is extremely fast. (25 seconds)
Initial setup is smooth.
Wireless network is a snap to setup.
Never has crashed on me.
Low CPU usage
