I just recently set up a new home theater system after using just hdmi from htpc to tv for a while without problems. Turning the TV off then on didn't have a problem getting the htpc to begin displaying video again. Now, with my receiver in between (Onkyo TX-NR414) when I power cycle the receiver, I get no video and the TV speakers (not the receiver's) has some nasty static/clicking noise; not like snowy static, but a distinct, ongoing, click. Not sure what's happening; a friend told me to just leave my receiver on 24/7 but that seems overkill and shouldn't be necessary. However, having to reboot my HTPC every time I turn my receiver back on is a pain in the ass.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help.

EDIT: sorry if this is on the forums somewhere already. I could not, for the life of me, figure out what keywords to search for...
