Today I started up xbmc to find out that all of my video files (mkv, avi, mp4, etc...) would not display subtitles properly. Considering i mostly only watch subbed anime, it sucks.
I tried every type of configuration to fix it to no avail. I spent all day googling for answers and trying to fix it myself. So I decided to to create an account so i could ask the community for help.
Here is the log:
http://pastebin.com/byEE2XCd
Since the problem manifests in all videos i wasn't sure if video file info was needed. If it is i will post it.
Thanks in advance for anyone who tries to help.

Well, after trying to uninstall and reinstall multiple different versions of xbmc, along with many configurations all to no avail, I gave up(or so I thought). I installed another media center to hold me off until this issue could be figured out. But as a long time xbmc user, other media centers pale in comparison. So I decided to try to fix the issue again. First i went over the log again. I'm not a programmer or anything so I googled the errors I found and felt it had to be a codec issue of some sort. So i uninstalled ALL media players(including itunes). Then, I installed the newest FFDSshow. Installed xbmc and this time it worked fine. I checked many videos and they all work. I don't know what went wrong or how, but i am so glad I could get it working again. Because xbmc is the best, hands down, far and a beyond the rest. |

Are you using the DS player version of XBMC?
FFDShow should have no effect on the internal XBMC players. |

Not DS player to my knowledge, but was made for Hi10p playback. |

Okay. In the future if you are not using an official build you should mention that in your OP. It is hard enough troubleshooting issues without an unknown build thrown into the mix. Glad you got it sorted out.
