I'm kinda new to the whole HTPC thing, but I'm loving it! I'm going to build another HTPC and would like to expand and start recording via cox cable. They have a DVR service but from what I've read I can't transfer those files to my HTPC for playback.
I'd like to record shows and then transfer them to my HTPC. How should I go about this?

When I had cox, I was able to hook my STB up to my computer via firewire and record that way. Might want to head down that road...

O really? I didn't know you could do that. I wont get cox until the first of May, but I'll look into that. Thanks!
Were you able to view the recorded shows/movies with XBMC?

That was way before XBMC... I don't see why not, XBMC plays just about everything. The format was .ts files, which required a little more beef.

I just read that somebody was able to connect a PVR to their Cox DVR and then to their computer.
