Restoring previously installed packages

I am installing XBMCbuntu and it has stopped at 'Restoring previously installed packages'

It has been about an hour.

Is this normal?

How long does it take to upgrade?

I left this on overnight and it is still stuck at the same stage. I don't really want to do a fresh install as that will be a right ball ache to get it running as it was.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do?
