As we know the playback of 1080i VC-1 files you get no video display but sound and this happens on XBMC or any external player i have.
With the release of the latest media player classic 1.6.1.4235 these files now work.

The question i have is there a way to play these files through XBMC using MPC or is XBMC going to be able to play these files at some point.
I am running on windows 7 x64 but later date i will be looking at using Open-Elec.

Look into using external players. There is info in the wiki and threads about it in the forums.

Most reliable option I've found too is to get rid of them. Transcode 1080i VC1 --> x264 via RipBot264.

There were very few reliable playback options in their native format.
