Hi,
I have been having lag issues with XBMC's integrated video player which I would like to fix but I didn't manage to yet. So I'm asking for help.
These issues occur when playing both SD and HD videos.
XBMC is running on a HTPC / NAS server that is directly connected to the TV, issues aren't thus network related.
This HTPC is running Windows 7 on a solid state disk. XBMC is installed on this disk too and videos are read from a local RAID 1 partition.
The HTPC runs 24/24.
There is a way to fix the problem: removing the guisettings.xml file. But I have to do it quite often (every two weeks I would say) and I find it really annoying.
Would someone have a long term solution?
Windows Lag issues, again and again

Does rebooting the machine solve the problem? i have extream lags after running the machine for some days, but works well after a reboot.
Some say even just restarting XBMC might help. |

Restarting XBMC does not help. I don't know for sure if rebooting the machine does but I would say it doesn't (I think I already tried).
Maybe there is a log file that is generated by XBMC and could provide more information? |
