Sounds like you can use it to control the EDID signal, perhaps you have configured it incorrectly.

As far as I know I shouldn't have to configure anything. When I used dharma it just worked plug and play. Is there nothing amiss in any of the log? Anything else I can test to see if it's a hardware issue (ie a different player)?

"The DM-MD6X4 eliminates such conflicts by managing the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) that modern digital devices use to communicate their capabilities. Through the DM-MD6X4, the format and resolution capabilities of each device can be assessed, allowing the installer to configure EDID signals appropriately for the most desirable and predictable behavior."

It's possible that your AVR is reporting the wrong EDID information to the Crestron. But since it allows you to control what's being reported, try manually configuring it.

How did you connects your system? Are there HTPC, Crestron, AVR and HDTV?

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Would be good to rule out software before then. Do you have access to anything else that does DTS-HD? Like Powerdvd?

But Eden 11.0 don't support DTS-HD and TrueHD.....if you want to bitstream HD audio using XBMC, you can check my signature for guide....

For XBMC to work properly, it have to recognize AVR and HDTV in the string.....if there is options in Crestron, you can set it to pass-thru audio and video. You can set AVR to pass-thru video too. AVR should be able to handle audio decoding and processing by itself, and HDTV should be able to handle video........

May I ask this- what do you use Crestron for?

Having another look at this today so will erport back

The crestron is a HD matrix, so basically you keep it in a central location (rack) along with the various sources (sky boxes, Blu ray player, PC movie server, Apple tv) and it distributes tehm over CAT5 to the TV's in the different rooms - not cheap, but in theory effective when I get it working correctly !

Problem was the HD matrix settings - you can set the matrix to allow the best possible settings through ie DTS HD etc (which then goes into the Denon amp in the main AV room), or the lowest common denominator ie 2 channel stereo.

The problem that I hadnt thought of in advance was that if we open it up to allow the best possible setting into the matrix, the 2 rooms that just have standard TV's in them cant cope! We think there may be around it by using an audio de-embedder that allows full HDMI passtrhough but that can down mix to a stereo output for the TV rooms...
