i recently downloaded xbmc ubuntu 11 eden and the install was a success. my concern is that when i did the initial install i was able to select a particular wifi ssd connection and it worked fine. however, i will be replacing that wifi router with a faster N router and would like to know where to go to select this new ssid connection after it is set up. i tried wicd-curses but i dont remember that was the name of the configuration app when i did the initial install. can someone point me in the right direction. i am very noob at this , the whole xbmc is setup correctly but i have no idea where to go to change the wifi.

note: i however am able to get puttytray and can do command lines from a remote pc.

I haven't use the full install of eden yet and instead upgraded via cli from 10.x xmbc-live, but either press 'tab' to take XBMC out of full screen mode, make your SSID changes from the desktop and hopefully that would work.

If it's not run on a desktop, then maybe alt-f7 could bring you to an ubuntu desktop to make the changes, then alt-f1 or whatever terminal it's running on (f1-f6) to get back.

Two things to try I suppose. Make sure to delete the old SSID info when you add the new and set the new as default and/or move it to the top of the list so it will always try to connect to it first.

no...
Two options (well there is more from command line)
1) Exit xbmc and log into the xbmcbuntu session and use the normal ubuntu network manager
2) Use the same SSID and encryption on the new router.........
