Hi!

I have my iTunes music on my Mac streamed via Majestic upnp server to my media box running XBMC under Ubuntu 11.04
To play the music in XBMC I have to change the default player from PAPlayer to DVDPlayer, (in userdata/AdvancedSettings.xml) since the PAPlayer cannot read the streamed music files from the upnp server.
However, when I insert a Audio CD into my XBMC media box drive, I cannot play it using DVDPlayer, only PAPlayer can play it.
And then I can only play one track at the time, since next track defaults to DVDPlayer again.

So the two sources are incompatible.
Can anybody suggest a solution?

look at playercorefactory.xml instead. you can assign a player only to the cdda protocol.

the real solution is of course figuring out why paplayer can't play your upnp streams.
