Can't install ZIP-file addons in XBMC :-(
#1
Question
Hi guys,

I ran into a strang problem!

After massive problems (re-)jailbreaking my ATV2 with FW 4.3 - after JB and reboot the screen turned black, reappeared again, turned black and so on - nitoTV and XBMC are running now without big issues.

The only thing that doesn't work is, that I'm no more able to install addons via ZIP-file!

I copied the zipped addons via FTP to "/private/var/mobile", then I got to "System / Settings / Add-Ons / Install from ZIP-file".

There I can see the blue Home-folder, but when I select it and press "OK" on my remote, nothing happens Huh

Strange is also, that only "Cancel" is highlighted, all other entries ("OK", "New folder" etc.) are greyed out...

I'm pretty sure that this worked before having such big problems with the JB - or am I doing something wrong?

BTW, I uninstalled XBMC, deleted every XBMC-folder and -files, reinstalled XBMC - but same issue!

I would be really glad about your help

Best regards

Do you mean this:
Code:
chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/
I did this and unfortunately it fixed nothing Sad

I'm still not able to choose any file, when I click "OK" with the cursor on the blue home-folder symbol...

Any other ideas?

Have the same problem. I would greatly appreciate if anyone helps. I tried to repair file permissions, but nothing happens. Either I am doing something wrong as I enter (chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/userdata) through terminal, or it just doesn’t resolve the issue. Please, help.

Thanks

You download with safari? Then its most likly that the zip files get extracted automatically after download. You need to deactivate that feature for preserving the zip files.
