Wifi, UnRaid, and XBMC

Glad a suggestion I made,..helped someone!

Yeah,..surge protectors are basically filters,...so the surge protector was actually clipping the signal.

The only thing I couldn't figure out with these was how to reset them

I tried pushing and holding the reset button while they were on, off and all combinations. Nothing worked lol.

I was just trying to reset them so I could test the speed without encryption. But no matter what I do now, they keep connecting to each other with encryption. Well, not really that big of a deal since I will be using them with encryption on just in case anyway.

PS. I refuse to install the software that comes with this kinda stuff. A lot of times it's impossible to completely remove them from the system afterwards. I remember the cable guy had insisted on installing the comcast software for my cable internet like 10 years ago. It took over my internet explorer title and logo and could not get rid of it for years

Funny you say that,..I did not install the software either.
It pretty much was plug-n-play.

Did not try to shut off encryption,..but I could probably find out how.

If you are trying to stream 1:1 blu-ray ripped in 1080P and bitstreaming, you'll be disappointed with 200mbps powerline because I cannot do it with my famous Linksys 200mbps powerline- Cisco-Linksys PLK300.....

You might have better luck with this "PHICOMM® Home Wall Plug AV 500 Mbps Powerline"..........or these- Linksys Refurbished E4200-RM + Linksys Refurbished WET610N......

I second these. These two things in 5ghz mode is how I have one of my clients working. Great router.

Yes, Great combo, as poofyhair/bluray said, e4200 to the client via 300 linksys stick in 5ghz mode (n-only) = no-stutter no buffer 1080p playback. Also I have my other wifi band set to 2.4ghz (b/g only).

That is the way to do it. 2.4GHz for laptops, tablets, and smartphones so you save the 5ghz range for HD video.

I just wonder what we'll be talking about ten years from now.

I remember downloading stuff over a 4800 baud modem,...and when they came out with 14400 baud I was in heaven!!!

OMG yes! I remember downloading porn (naked girl pics) via 9600 back in the day and it taking forever just to see some boobies!!!!
