Hello all. I just learned of XBMC this week when researching what to do with an old laptop. It's a decent Toshiba running windows seven.

I've set up an account with Giganews, NZBMatrix, Sabnzbd, and Sickbeard. When trying to get Sickbeard to communicate with XBMC it won't recognize XBMS's IP address. I'm also having the same problem with my Android phone trying to recognize the IP.

XBMC is showing an IP of 10.0.0.12 with a port of 8080, I've listed it ever conceivable way 10.0.0.12:8080 etc.
Sickbeard is on 8081, could this be causing a problem, or what in the world am I not doing??

if you are using the official android remote then follow this

its a little old but should still be right....main things to look at is that you set xbmc to be controlled through http and by other programs

this may also fix your issue with sickbeard

if your phone ad sickbeard are on the same subnet as your xbmc pc then forwarding ports in your router shouldn't be needed....if for some reason you do have the xbmc pc on a diff subnet then you would need to forward ports
