Hi Ive been a user since version 10 and simply adore xbmc, Since moving over to version 11 though I have a couple of issues (similar to whats been posted on here but not exactly the same)
When I start xbmc I get the windows thump sound and the error message comes up...
XBMC: XBMC,exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point ??1critical_section@concurreny@@QAE@XZXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCR100.dll
I can press enter and xbmc carries on, then if it decides to minimise itself, or if Ive played a movie and its returning back to the main menu it throws up this error again. After its done it for a few times (5 - 10) It will cause xbmc to hang the pc and I have to power off manually to reset it.
The other problem I have is that (even if nothing is apparently running in the background) xbmc just minimises itself and I go back to the desktop
I am running on a windows XP system and was wondering if its still being supported, or weather I would be better off upgrading to windows 7. Ive tried the 27/04/12 Nightly build and the Stable 11.0 Main Download and these problems are common to both. Ive also tried various skins and again I get the same issues (I do love the metropolis skin by the way).
Heres my debug log file. Thanks for your help

Please move your log to pastebin and put the link to it in you OP. It helps to keep the forum and threads cleaner.
I'm not sure why you are getting that error. A dev will know. But XBMC minimizing (if not due to the error), is caused by an application or service starting up and grabbing focus. You may think nothing is running in the background, when truly something does.

I didn't think XBMC was linked with msvcr100.dll, though it could be one of the libraries it uses. Enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging then close XBMC and run it again to get the error. Pop the log on http://pastebin.com/ and post the link here. It might be worth searching your C: drive for the file. On my system I find:
Code: D:\temp>filefind c:\MSVCR100.dllIf something grabs the focus from XBMC and causes it to minimise the debug log will tell you what app was responsible. For example on my system if I switch to Internet explorer my log shows: Code: DEBUG: CWinEventsWin32::WndProc: Focus switched to process C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe |

Heres the Log ...
http://pastebin.com/ikewtPfP Whats really confusing me now is that I have looked in the directory and the file (Imagelib.dll) is there ? ?

Aha, imagelib.dll is linked with msvcr100.dll. XBMC is attempting to load imagelib.dll and this is failing because msvcr100.dll can't be found.
I've put a copy of my msvcr100.dll on http://swarchive.ratsauce.co.uk/xbmc/. Grab it from here and copy it to C:\Windows\system32. |

Well again that file was in there too, I overwrote my copy with yours and so far it seems to have done the trick.
I have also noticed a graphic when xbmc first starts (the eden one) which I didnt get before. Either way, Im happy - Many many thanks |

all files built with vs2010 require msvcr100.dll therefore the installer installs it if the user won't opt it out (Microsoft Visual C++ 2008/2010 Redistributable Package)
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules. For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first. |
