Hi,
I've recently installed XBMC 11 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS i386 from the XBMC ppa. Typically I leave the box on all the time with XBMC running on it, and I'm seeing some strange behavior:
When I startup the box, I can either launch XBMC directly as a desktop environment from the login menu (sweet feature!) or go into the default Ubuntu desktop and launch it from there. The XBMC environment is responsive in either case; watch movies or whatever, but when I leave the system sitting for a while, then come back, the XBMC UI and video playback is painfully slow (on the UI, maybe 3-5 fps, and the video is much worse; completely unwatchable). The only way to solve the problem is to exit XBMC, and relaunch. This happens in both cases: launching directly into the 'XBMC desktop' or from the ubuntu desktop and launching XBMC as an application.
Has anyone else seen this, and/or have suggestions on how to diagnose/resolve the problem?
