AppleTV 1 (silver) Setup audio in Crystalbuntu with optical out

Morning, all,

I'm currently in the process of setting up my XBMC on my ATV1. I've got my receiver (NAD-L70) setup to receive the audio on the optical IN port, on the VCR channel. It will automatically detect the type (DTS / AC3 / surround etc).
In my previous version of XBMC (iOS installed, Firecore patch) it was running smoothly, but now I can't get it to even give me the systemsounds in the default skin.

Does anyone have a clue what I need to setup for my audio settings in XBMC now?
