New to this. I would like to retire my DVD player and use XBMC to play my home videos (70+ DVD's).
I have a dedicated PC attached to my LCD TV via HDMI.
Is there a way to set it up where I can copy all of the DVDs onto the PC's harddrive and then create bookmarks or flag the content so that I can search by the content (ie: Ben's birthdays, family vacations, who is appearing in the video-Mom, Dad, Ben...., Christmas 2008, 2009, 2010.... etc. and then play only the material I want?
Thanks. Huh

I don't think XBMC can search bookmark titles within files, but you could rip all the DVD chapters as individual files and do it that way. You'd need to use NFO files since they're custom/home movies. See also Adding videos to the library/Home videos/custom videos. You could even use Movie sets to make the chapter files grouped by disc.

You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc
