Using XBMC on Squeeze.
#1
Dear forum readers,

i'm new here, i'm 30 years old and i'm a strong computer enthusiast.
i have a box on my network that i primarily use for my file storage and git repos.
i decided that this box would be of a good use as a media center also, since when i'm watching a movie, i'm not working...
The box is a Debian Squeeze, with a 64ibit 3.2 kernel from the backports repos. i recently also added the multimedia repos, so i can try XBMC (This box didn't have an X window system, it was streaming my movies to my laptop via Plex Media Server, and i'm most of the case using SSH to access the box when i need to start a virtual machine or to change some of it's configuration).
Right now, what i wish to achieve would be to be able to have XBMC running all the time on this box, so i have installed xorg along with XBMC.

i have managed to find a script to be able to start / stop XBMC via rc.d on another website. However, when i try to start XBMC, it doesn't show and returns to my console with the log attached at the end of the topic.

i'm wondering... Since i'm able to start xinit (i can see xterm and use it, so i guess my xorg is configured), and since i am using a i5 processor, could it be related to the fact that this processor doesn't have a powerfull-enough GPU (Or maybe that this processor might not be supported at all for OpenGL)?

If you have any idea or if you know what i am doing wrong (And since i'm very new to the whole XBMC system, that has to be something i'm doing wrong), could you please explain me what direction i shall head to to solve this issue?

Thanks a lot!
Pierre.

[edit]Oh and the XOrg output might be relevant, i don't know... It doesn't show any error, just a few warnings, but i'm attaching it at the end.[/edit]
