Crawl- I was able to get to 4.4.2 tethered, but not to 4.4.4 as I can't get 4.4.4 blobs saved..can only get 5.0. I will try and load XBMC on this build (4.4.2) and see if it performs any better.

No, it's legit. I was able to get to 4.4.2 tethered from 5.1, but can't get any further without blobs.

You can downgrade from 5.1 to 4.4.2 tethered without having saved any blobs. That process works. I've done it. The only thing you absolutely need your own saved blobs for is to then go from 4.4.2 tethered, to 4.4.4 untethered. That's where the confusion is. Read the instructions here, and note the part where they provide you with 4.4.2 SHSH blobs that work for downgrading: http://forum.firecore.com/topic/7455 Unfortunately, the 4.4.2 blob they provide is the only one that works in this manner, and 4.4.2 is a tethered boot. And yes, I had blobs saved for 4.4.4, so I was able to then go from 4.4.2 tethered to 4.4.4 untethered. Always always always save blobs when you have the opportunity. And if you've used atv Flash in the past, note that it may have saved your blobs automatically without you doing so. Check that too. |
