If you have room, bigger case is always better for HTPC. You'll have more room for upgrades, and it'll have more room for airflow too.....

You'll not regret it for having BD-ROM......it is very convenience to pop in a blu-ray disc whenever you want.....

I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Well bluray I do really understand your point there but I fell stupid now buying blue ray drive when I already have one sitting there is my ps3...

What I can do then is keep the A8 change the case for an ITX6, (which has a dvd rom slot). And voilà!!!

What way I would get the best of both world and small case.

Well as you can see my decision process is painful (I must be making too many decisions in one day, to be that saturated) Wink

IMO get an HDhomerun tuner... very mature hardware, inexpensive and cheaper still on ebay, and more widely used and support than any other in the industry. You'll thank me later.
I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

Plus my 2 last questions.

Looks like a good setup! Wink

With the Wesena, you'll need an aftermarket case fan (the one supplied is loud as hell and spin at 2200RPM. Far from silent). I got this one and I'm happy with it : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.asp...6835426010 Through either Speedfan or BIOS control, you can set it to spin around 900RPM. Virtually silent.

Look here for reliable picoPSU in Canada : http://www.itxcanada.com/catalog/Power_S...-43-1.html

Finally, are you set on using W7 or Linux/OpenElec?

Lastly, have a good 1st day in your new job Smile

Neither of these will fit in the Wesena ITX-6. There is only 40mm clearance below the optical drive, which is also where the SSD is installed.

It has to be said that you can have more than 40mm if :

- You place your SSD (or 2.5" HDD) behind the Optical slot, over the MB (fixed it with tie-wraps)
- If you bend the metal tray (where 3.5" HDD is supposed to be).

I've calculated that the available space is about 65mm in height and about 90mm (maybe a little bit more as I had some dfficulty at measuring the horizontal space) in the horizontal plane (2 RAM stick).

I think my eyeballs are playing tricks on me. I've been skeptical because I own this case (http://www.ebay.com/itm/251040496096) which is 108mm tall (8mm taller than ITX-6) and setup much the same as the ITX-6. Eyeballing it, it looks like no way it'll fit. I do however measure 2.5" (63mm) roughly from motherboard to bottom of ODD tray. I also have the SCBSK-2100 which is 58mm. That leaves 5.5mm to spare but you need 8mm. That 2.5mm must be the need to bend the plate then.

Nice thing about my case is there is a side-mount for a 2.5" SSD/HDD so it's no need to mount under the ODD.

This thread has inspired me to try it Smile.

[Edit]
Ok, it block the PCI-e slot which I want to put a GPU or tuner card into so it's a no go width-wise.

I feel pretty good about Realan E-mini http://www.minicase.net/,
especially, sereie I. It is a great little HTPC or desktop case. the heat dissipation should be good, and with good performance.
