Dell Inspiron 1526

Got this laptop a while back from a family member. It woudn't boot, and he replaced it and gave it to me to mess with. Turns out all it needed was a CMOS battery. Works fine, aside from a sketchy touchpad.

Anyway, I want to use this as my XBMC machine. Specs are as follows:

AMD TL60 dual-core CPU at 2Ghz
4GB DDR2-800
ATI Radeon xPress 1270
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

It's going to be hardwired into my network at 100Mbps over a Ethernet connection through a powerline adapter. Main video library on a 2TB drive on my main desktop in another room also hardwired into said network.

Thoughts? Potential issues? Advice?

I think it should do ok... may have trouble with 1080p stuff.

Make sure the max memory is set in the BIOS for your GPU. I read it was 128 MB max.

If I were you I might try linux (ubuntu), tiny xp, openelec (not sure if GPU is supported) or something other than vista for a smoother experience if all you are using it for is XBMC. If you are open to it that is.
