Linux Multiple queued videos hang after some hours of playing

I'm having an issue where I have queued up multiple movies with Repeat: All (I've tried with a few and with 30+ with the same result), but after some hours the player hangs, but the time is still visible (pressed I for video/time info prior to hang). Nothing seems to work but doing a hard reset of the computer, I've tried from local hdd and over samba, same issue occurs. I have not witnessed this problem with running just one video on repeat.
I am using XBMCbuntu 11 but have also tried newer gits but didnt make a difference. This problem was not present in Dharma though where it could run literally for days without a problem (forgetting to switch off the box after going to bed

Any help regarding this matter would be much appreciated.

edit: has now happened after some hour or two with a single video too. PC is nvidia ion2, file is an h264 1080p file.
