Hello,
I have the following setup:
HD Radeon 6450
--> HDMI connected to a Yamaha SR-301 receiver (is the receiver of the YHT-S401 soundbar)
--> DVI connected to a Dell 2009W 20" TFT
Yamaha SR-301
--> HDMI connected to a Philips 42PFL8404H
I've seen that what Windows or MonInfo see depends on which devices are powered on:
- If both of them are powered on: Windows/Monifo see the Philips
- If only the receiver is powered on: Windows/Moninfo see the Yamaha
It seems normally because Windows see both devices as a Display panel (well Catalyst Control Center has the same behaviour).
Things I've seen that seems strange to me:
- If the SR-301 is powered off, then the Philips TV doesn't have signal from the PC (so it doesn't have HDMI passthrough)
- SR-301 defaults to 1080i @ 30 Hz in Catalyst
- SR-301 doesn't have the option to set at 1080p @ 24 Hz if we don't force this mode to be added to Display Manager (but as per SR-301 specs is supported)
- SR-301 only have by default 1080p @ 25, 29, 30, 50, 59, 60 in CCC
- Philips defaults to 1080p @ 60 Hz in Catalyst
- Philips have by default 1080p @ 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 50, 59, 60 in CCC
Other things are the output of real information in Moninfo:
Here is the info for Dell 2009W:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=2220
Here is the info for the Philips in the time when I didn't have the receiver yet, so PC connected directly to the TV:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=2221
The info for the SR-301 receiver (when it is powered on and the Philips powered off):
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=2222
Well, and now the curiosity, the output for the Philips when both devices are powered on. It seems like a merge of settings for both components (for example, the audio formats are those of the receiver):
Sorry for this long post but my questions are the following:
- Which settings do I set the Philips (well, the Philips when both devices are powered on) in Windows / CCC? (resolution is 1920x1080 but wich refresh?)
- Must I override the Generic PnP Monitor in Windows by an INF file generated by MonInfo?
Here are the INF generated for the Yamaha:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=2223
and the Philips (when the Yamaha is on):
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=2224
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks.
