Looking at getting an Acer Aspire for a quick and easy solution for getting an OpenElec version running. Used OE before and liked it.

Not sure whether to get the R3700 or the RL70. The RL70 is about £10 more but I've read conflicting info about which is best for XBMC.

Won't be used for anything but XBMC duties.

Confused re the different CPU etc - its been a while since I looked into XBMC - so long that I forget my old user name :-p

i'm using the RL70 for xbmc. works fine. full hd over wlan is no problem. but i don't think that the r3700 would be worse.

the rl70 is very quiet, you can't hear him over a disctance about 1m. but the "normal" edition (without bluray or tv card) doesn't have an IR-chip for remote control. i had to buy an external usb-ir-receiver.

I'll be using wired Ethernet for mine plus the Android XBMC remote.

Might as well go with the RL70 by the looks of it :-)
