Screensaver settings: 3min, Dim (20%). Don't have any special issues getting out of the screensaver, though.

I just changed yesterday my TV and computer resolution to 1920x1080 over an HDMI cable. I'll let you know if that makes any difference...

Nop, didn't help... Still having the same issue with the new TV. The problem is on my computer for sure. Any other ideas?

Nope. I am out of ideas. I don't see how it can be XBMC. It must be the system or system/TV combination.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with XBMC as it only happens when it's running.

@Imiron - What machine / OS are you running?

Really. It only happens when XBMC is running? Have you tried it with MCE running or any other media player running for the same amount of time fullscreen?

I'm running Windows 7 32bit with a P4 3.0Ghz.
In my case, I think it has to do with "handshaking" between the TV and PC. When I went black, I unplugged my hdmi cable from the TV and plugged it back in, and that got it back.
I'm trying in windowed mode now to see if that helps.

Ok, looks like the problem is solved. I hope.

It seems like this was the CPU (or maybe the graphics card) overheating too much and the machine would just turn itself off in some way. After cleaning up the internals and the fan everything seems to work as normal. Machine is much quieter now as well...

Thanks all for suggestions!

@kricker - BTW, this did only happen with XBMC. Maybe it just needs more power than Media Center 7.
